1/13/2018 0 Comments January 13th, 2018In addition to the Winter Term Classes I'm still teaching at Artspace I've got a few other workshops on the horizon at the moment. You can see them in the Calendar section. First on the dock is the Bookbinding class I'm doing this coming Thursday. There are still spaces available but the deadline for registration (so that I can ensure enough supplies and materials are available for each participant) is this coming Thursday registration is CA$40.00 at Muckabout.ca I've been creating sample practice books in anticiaption of the workshop and as part of my artist residency. Next Weekend I am also offering a workshop on one of the most alluring of the elements of art: Colour. We'll create colour wheels and charts while learning about all aspects of colour. I'll be prepping charts and paper for that this week as well. 1/7/2018 0 Comments on the 7th dayWe're taking down the tree doing laundry and getting ready to get back to schedules and regular activities. Our group show at the Neighbourhood house is down and selling a painting in that show was a pretty nice way to finish off a year of art making and a good kickstart into the new year. I have plans for new paintings. I've given myself a goal of 20 paintings this year along with the bookmaking and because they go part and parcel together I'll post about them on my secondary blog The Highest Form of Hope.
This blog will document my teaching activities and any other activities that I am involved in. I'll be linking back and forth between the posts if there are things that feel like they need linking. I spent my first week of the new year in full on teaching mode. I taught Winter Break Camp at Artspace this week with a focus on Art Exploration. We made relief portraits with paper mache. We did painting and collage and played an art collaboration game. At Muckabout it was a week of moving, organizing and teaching a free form book art class. I'm in the processo f editing the photos I took during these lessons and will post them in a gallery as soon as they are done. |
