Artspace For Children in Burnaby
My contract with Artspace ended at the end of Fall Term 2018. I have moved forward with other teaching venues in 2019.
The decision to leave was not an easy one or one taken lightly.
Artspace has been my teaching home since 2013 and I have loved every second of instructing there; from the sweet moments with toddlers and preschoolers to the challenging work with atypical students and all the other awesome art moments in between.
Artspace will be closing it's doors in March. This special place in Burnaby and the families that frequent the classes and programs have made up an amazing community that allowed me to become one of the faces in the heights that gets recognized a lot. I've loved making connections with the people, the students and families that have gone beyond the walls of Artspace. It has meant so much to me and my family to be included there.
To Artspace and it's staff, and the families that I met and worked with there; I want to express my gratitude for all the things mentioned above. Thank You.

In fall 2018 I taught art at Artspace For Children in North Burnaby and at Place Des Arts in Coquitlam.
I also offer mini session classes through Muckabout Gift Gallery in North Burnaby.
I do have work for sale at Muckabout Gift Gallery as well. My most recent body of work is on display there and available for purchase.
It's application time for shows and residencies. Keeping with last year's focus on expanding my art I'm applying to things and filling out forms. As I recieve news I'll add new items here.

I had the pleasure of being in a small group show this month at the Burnaby North Neighbourhood House. It's a house themes show titled Friends and Neighbours.
Friends & Neighbours is a group show about the places we call home.
Living in the Lower Mainland with the current housing crisis and our collective interest in creating a home for ourselves; the concept of creating a body of work around the form of the house shape is a simple one that is loaded with socioeconomic ramifications. The House form is deeply symbolic. It’s one of the first images we create as children when asked to draw our community our home is instinctively included in that imagery. A home is one of the basic necessities of life it’s where we say we come from, it’s where we feel safe and it’s the place that we dream about. We often hang signs in our homes declaring that “Friends and Neighbours are welcome here” and the longer we live in a neighbourhood the more familiar faces we see each day; home becomes not just the building we live in but the community we create in our surroundings and the people who share that space with us.
The show was up in December at North Burnaby Neighbourhood House located at 4908 Hastings St, Burnaby, BC. The opening reception/art journalling evening December 8th from 6pm to 9pm was a fun evening with lots of community building in th form of art making. There are a few shots of some of the artwork on display but they really don't do them justice. Please stop by the North Burnaby Neighbourhood House to see our work.
